The Adaptation Fund Board's (AFB) last meeting in 2009 took place from the 16th to the 18th November in Bonn. This document summarises the key outcomes of the meeting and the debates most relevant to the future development of the Adaptation Fund. Just a few weeks ahead of COP 15 in Copenhagen the Board can be satisfied with its progress achieved in 2009. The Fund is almost fully operational. The AFB has taken concrete steps towards the direct access approach in the last four meetings of the year. In this meeting it was also decided that Germany will host the Fund and is tasked to give legal capacity to the AFB.
