Don't Foul the Planet - Invest in the Future

Big Heads Give Climate the Boot, World Cup Style

Bonn, June 11, 2010: As the Bonn climate negotiations enter the last day just two weeks before the opening of the G8/G20 meetings in Toronto (Canada), Germanwatch, Greenpeace, Oxfam, WWF and tcktcktck asked the G8 'big head' leaders to avoid scoring an own goal on climate investment outside the Maritim Hotel. Honouring the opening day of the World Cup, including the first match between COP16 and COP 17 hosts Mexico and South Africa, the G8 leaders gave in to a round of soccer.
