Invitation to
| The next round of the UN climate
negotiations will take place from the 1st to the 12th of June; this round
is of central importance as preparation for the climate conference in Copenhagen,
in December 2009. The previous negotiations have shown that a long road
still stands before us to a Copenhagen agreement that can help avert dangerous
climate change. In particular, too little attention is given to the perspective
of those people particularly at risk from climate change.
We cordially invite you to two events which pick up on this deficit in the negotiations and, with creative actions and substantive debates, give new dynamic to the course of the negotiations. Both are taking place on the 6th
of June, in the middle of the climate negotiations. Those who wish to combine
both, will probably have the opportunity during the lunch-break of the
"Development and Climate Day" to participate at the day of action.
