At Germanwatch, Anne is responsible for carbon pricing topics. On the one hand, she is focusing on carbon pricing at EU level, in particular on the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) and the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM). On the other hand, Anne is working on carbon pricing in the transport and buildings sector in Germany, especially with respect to questions of social justice.
Anne has been passionate about climate since school and even happened to be the appointee for energy conservation at primary school. She has a background in Environmental Sciences and used to work on climate change mitigation and adaptation in international cooperation before joining Germanwatch. Amongst other things, she worked with government and private sector stakeholders in Tunisia, Indonesia and Uganda on raising the ambition of these countries' nationally determined contributions.
