Since COP29, Parties have been unable to agree on a decision regarding the review of the Warsaw International Mechanism (WIM) for Loss and Damage (L&D). A key point of contention remains the proposal to develop an L&D Status Report. Our policy brief outlines why such a report is essential – and why it must include a dedicated finance section. Without reliable data on financial needs, available resources, and funding gaps, effective responses to L&D cannot be achieved.
