In a context of rising geopolitical rivalry and global instability, the climate crisis functions as a powerful risk multiplier that increasingly undermines peace, security, and human well-being. This paper provides an analysis of COP30 outcomes from the perspective of the climate, peace, and security nexus. It also defines the next steps for further shaping policy for a fragile and warming world in 2026, with a view to COP31 but also to other climate and security relevant milestones.
