The partnership between the EU and India is said to hold enormous potential. The rapid rapprochement over the last years, including the recent conclusion of a Free Trade Agreement and a joint strategic agenda towards 2030, underscore the momentum to put potential into practice.
In this policy brief, we argue that the partnership must make climate action a key priority to realise its ‘green potential’ and to drive sustainable growth and resilience. Five areas are of particular importance in this regard: Financing, clean tech manufacturing, industrial decarbonisation, adaptation, and expanding its scope.
