A lot has happened since the breakthrough at the UN Climate Change Conference in Paris 10 years ago. Renewable energies are advancing inexorably, states have adopted new national climate targets, and technological innovations are helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. At the same time, greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere are not only continuing to rise but are doing so at an unprecedented rate. Global emissions are still reaching new highs.
The Climate Change Performance Index (CCPI), published annually by Germanwatch, assesses the efforts of more than 60 countries to tackle climate change along a refined methodology containing 14 indicators. In our new CCPI blog post, we discuss where we stand ten years after Paris, what successes have been achieved, and whether we are on track to meet global climate targets.
